Digital Trust \u2013 The Intangible Asset Shaping the Destiny of the Data Economy<\/h1>\n

No law is strong enough, no technology is modern enough, without one single thing: trust. In the world of data, where all transactions, contracts, and interactions take place through screens, trust is the “soft infrastructure” \u2013 the invisible foundation that determines the speed and resilience of the entire digital economy.<\/p>\n

Digital trust is not just about believing in security or technology, but a comprehensive trust: citizens trust that their data is used for the right purposes; businesses trust that policies will not change abruptly; and investors trust that the nation’s digital environment is transparent and predictable. When this trust is solid, capital flows, data, and innovation will surge like healthy blood vessels.<\/p>\n

In reality, digital trust is becoming the “new currency” in global competition. Singapore has the “Digital Trust Centre” researching AI ethical standards; Japan introduced the concept of “Society 5.0” \u2013 where humans, technology, and trust go hand in hand; while the EU protects its citizens with the GDPR to build “institutional trust.” Nations that pioneer in trust infrastructure will lead the way in the data economy.<\/p>\n

Vietnam has opportunities but also faces risks: the digital ecosystem is developing rapidly, but social trust has not kept pace. Many users are still hesitant to share data, businesses worry about sudden inspections, and investors fear policy changes. These small “cracks” could cause the data economy to lose its momentum to take off.<\/p>\n

The solution does not lie in slogans, but in implementation and consistency. When regulatory agencies commit to securing citizen data, when businesses are transparent in collecting and using information, and when users have the right to “know \u2013 choose \u2013 delete” their data, trust will naturally be restored. A digital trust rating mechanism \u2013 assessing the reliability of platforms and organizations \u2013 will also help make the data market more transparent.<\/p>\n

Trust cannot be enacted by decree, but must be built through actions. If data is “blood”, then trust is the “oxygen” that sustains that flow. And in a world where everything can be encrypted, only trust cannot be programmed \u2013 yet it is the source code that determines the destiny of the digital era.<\/p>\n
